The Long Way Round. The Rise of King David

King David is one of the most famous men in the bible, yet his rise to fame and power is far from straightforward. As we track his journey from the boy who kills a giant to the man ready to rule, there are many detours and unexpected twists in the road. Along the way, we’ll see God’s gauge of leadership and learn how to trust him in testing times. We’ll see the corrosive effects of jealousy, the importance of friendship and the cost of standing with the godly in the face of persecution. We’ll even meet a witch!

Most of all, we will see in God’s choice of David a reflection of Jesus, his ultimate king.

Prayer Meeting

Prayer is a vital expression of our new life in Christ. Our small groups and Sunday gatherings are marked by prayer for our local teachers, leaders, emergency services personnel and the church.

Four times a year we gather to pray at length for our world, our city and each other. We would love you to join us. There is no pressure to pray out loud. If you can say “Amen” , you are welcome!

Next meeting 7.30pm in the main church building, Monday 27th February.

 The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.   (Phil 4)

Join us for a free course over seven weeks exploring Christianity.

WHEN?   We will be running the next course on both Tuesdays and Thursdays  

NOTE the new starting times: 8pm – 9.30pm

  • Seven Tuesday nights, starts 31st January, 2012 
  • Seven Thursday nights, starts 2nd February, 2012

TUESDAYS – Macbeth’s home. 19 College St, Drummoyne

THURSDAYS – St Bede’s Hall, 21 College St, Drummoyne

This is a great opportunity to discuss matters of faith, ask questions or simply listen as we consider what Jesus said and did. Evenings are deliberately low-key and light refreshments are provided.
